Stones are a prominent feature of Iran’s nature. Travertine is also one of the mostly found stones in the heart of mountains of our country, cherishing our eyes with its elegant beauty in our
buildings.
Geologically, travertines are the newest stone type formed on earth. Sedimentation in ancient limestone springs or the deposition of calcium carbonate particles in calcite caves around springs and rivers have created travertine rocks. The stone belongs to the fourth geological period (Quaternary period). It has a porous texture and is found in various colors in nature. The constituent minerals of travertine are mainly aragonite and calcite. Its lemon, yellow and red colors are due to the presence of iron oxide in the chemical composition of this stone. It has low to medium crystalline porosity and sometimes forms in an aqueous environment with high porosity.
Travertine is used in exterior and interior facades, landscaping and stone artifacts. The susceptibility of the material to be polished has made it a suitable material for the execution of pillars, sculptures, and volumetric facades. The characteristics of travertine stone are its various colors, light weight, excellent sand resistance, good compressive strength, stable color, excellent material flexible for working with different tools and good adhesion to mortar. Travertines in Amin Ario Stone are offered in two forms: polished and leathered and are found in diverse colors such as white, chocolate, cream, orange (red), lemon, and walnut. Its a privilege to bring the feel of nature with different touches of travertine to your customers’ surroundings.
